JDMvW
I'd have made the shadows a little darker, but it's fine as it is. If you're not MTC under a new name, are there now more of you to play together?! 😀 Edited December 9, 2022 by JDMvW
jc1305us
I really like this composition. It's an excellent photo! Technically, maybe bring the highlights down a bit, but it's still very good. Well done
jllegros
I'd have made the shadows much darker too and may be more clarity on the ground 1 French wedding photographer from south-west of France
Ricochetrider
Cool shot! Very engaging, I was immediately drawn in, it makes me want to go to wherever this is.
mikemorrellNL
I agree that this a great, well-composed, and interesting photo. I especially like the 'lines' of the windows' shadows in the foreground that lead up to the arcade's windows themselves. The photo - as is - looks completely natural. Personally, my attention is immediately drawn to the high-contrast arcade windows (with their ornate decorations). Then I realize that the 'lines' in the foreground are shadows cast by the windows. Finally, I realize that the buildings left and right make a nice 'frame'. You might want to consider slightly (artificially in PP) increasing the visual impact of the 'leading lines' by darkening the shadows and increasing the contrast. I stress 'slightly'! But where you want viewers to focus their attention first is a matter of taste.
T. R. Tinker
The arcade windows could have been centered to draw more attention to them and the shadows, and less attention to the buildings on the left side of the picture, but that's a personal preference. One thing to also consider is a slight crop from the top which I think would strengthen the leading lines in the foreground. The light at the top is distracting and isn’t needed. IMHO. I like it overall.
dcstep
I love it as is. If it were mine, I'd raise the shadows on the side walls to reveal a bit more detail there and leave the shadows on the floor exactly where they're set. The composition is so strong that you have great flexibility with the levels.
michael_kucinich
I find the sun lit floor in the foreground to be distracting and it takes away from the wonderful architecture and structures in the background.
marc_rochkind
Suggestion: The strong part of this image is the pattern of the sunlight. To emphasize this, experimentally see if cropping the top makes a stronger image. I experimented by holding up a card and it did.
