Nudes in General Category Boards

I was surprised to see nude studies in some of the general boards such as "No Words".  Traditionally, images such as this have been limited to the "Nude & Erotic" or "Glamour" categories by consensus and practice.

We have many gifted photographers who produce nude studies, such as John Peri.  While I have no issue with posting nudes, and appreciate well-executed studies (especially B&W), there is no mechanism to make such NSFW friendly in the general category boards.  In the galleries, one can select "Enable NSFW Block" which greys out the photo and makes a potential viewer 'opt in.'   This is likely a good thing--but IMHO is not something to be contended with in a board that is not for that purpose.

What do others think?

In the past nudes were posted in nude and erotic and there were no visible thumbnails.  When posted in other categories they were moved or removed.  Currently, no new terms of use have been posted for the relaunched site.  Lacking those, I am reluctant to censor content.  I believe it would be a good idea if those who have recently posted nudes refrain until the rules are posted and software is adjusted to former community standards.  If outright porn appears, I will take action, and would appreciate it being reported.

Perhaps those in the 'Members' group have the ability to report a post, but in my PN Pro group I have no such function.  Yup, I looked everywhere.  I seem to remember early on in this update process seeing that choice somewhere--either the three dot ellipsis or the "Moderation Actions" dropdown at the bottom of the content page.

A PM will do nicely.  Unfortunately I have no idea what others see, or what tools may be available to them. It seems to vary based on their devices and software usage.

Yes, members do have the ability to report a post via the three dots in the upper right of each post.

Nudes have been appearing in No Words for quite some time now, long before the current migration, though not with great frequency.

If I were concerned about encountering nudes at work, I would either have been avoiding PN or learned how to browse the Internet more clandestinely.

The Whole Foods WiFi network never let me onto PN for fear of content. Don’t know if that changed since the migration. Funny, they won’t allow me to see nudes but I can read all the news porn I want while blowing avatars away on a video game.

I would like to live in a world where nudes were treated like any other photo … but I don’t.

I would also like to belong to a site where there was more diversity of content and style among the nudes. For years, it’s been monotonous, shallow, and not much more than a pinup party of pretty and rather thin clichés.

FYI, here’s a screen shot of what I see in Safari, on my iMac, iPhone, and iPad …

It's a setting in group permissions for the Pro group of users that is not turned on.  It lives in the ACP at Members|Groups|Content|Moderation|"Can Report Content".  It's something @mjensen or other admin people can fix quick and easy!

Here is my menu:

Where and how is this option available? I can't find it

I too have lost the right click NSFW settings completely.  And there is no menu item in that jumbled up mess that is Profile/Account.  I had it before.

My guess is that the permissions are not set correctly for the PN Pro member group.

Can any other Pro members access and manage NSFW settings in Galleries or threads?

Gaining a little understanding... I l cleared cookies, logged back in, selected explore>galleries>nudeanderotic; now presented with  thumbnails of photos; clicked on one and blurred image appears with "image is nsfw click to optin" button. click it and image appears clear (unblurred). Clicking on a different image in the gallery and button and click option reccurrs. Progress.... but would be nice to have clear viewing as a personal option sticky across the site. But... I guess we take it or leave it.

It would be nice to have an across the site opt out from nudes, like we had before. They are both blurred and crystal clear on any given day on the front page of the site, for me at least. Or, maybe people could start posting nudes of men. That might balance things out, or be entertaining, if we can't opt out completely.

#1 on my list would be functional galleries and albums.

But this thread isn't about your priorities. We all want functional galleries. As I've said in the past, they will either fix it or not. I'm done asking about it. As its for nudes, we should have a choice of opting in or out. It's a statement of fact, not a complaint and your comment comes off like a dismissal. We shouldn't even have to discuss it. Life is short and I've got better things to do.

Luca is hilarious and I appreciate the levity.

Sorry, when the boat is barely floating, I have trouble worrying about painting the trim.  There are many things that should be and hopefully will be, nearly all of which are beyond my ability to influence.

I've been unable to see the NSFW images, and tried all the usual fixes. Simply put, this site doesn't work as it should. There should be a global opt-in I can click in my profile. Right now, well, this is a bit of a cluster f**k. Three different browsers, no difference. It's a site issue.
