Note: In the interests of balancing performance and quality, the topic of image file size and dimensions as normally posted to this recurring thread is under discussion elsewhere in the Nikon forum (the topic is obvious when you look) - please check in there and comment if you have thoughts to share! That's the best place to talk about that particular topic. For now, consider keeping uploads no larger than 1600 pixels on the long side when it matters, and sticking with 1000 pixels when the image feels no pain at that resolution. On data size/compression, try to keep things under 1mb, shooting for 600kb when you can stop there. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here:
Guidelines for Nikon Forum Wednesday Image Threads. For now, we're sticking with 1, 2, or 3 images per week as you see fit.

I could have SWORN I posted this a week ago, but now I don't even see last week's Nikon Wednesday ... so I suspect I'm not hallucinating, and it got evaporated during The Great Migration (about which don't get me started). So, some Pumpkin Deja Vu, I suppose, while I figure out The New Way Of Being. If you can, share some photos as we've been doing all these years!

My "walk around" kit used to consist of a Nikon D300 or D80 with a 80-300mm zoom and the Tokina. I replaced both with the 18-200mm zoom to save weight and avoid changing lenses all the time. I thought I should be able to get everything done with one zoom and avoid and exposing the sensor to the environment. I miss the versatility of two zooms. These days it's all about small cameras and fixed focal length lenses...weight again.

The Tokina is 12-24mm equaling an 18-36mm. Maybe time to take it out for a walk around soon.

And an 18-200 lens is the equivalent of 27-300 mm. Not very wide, really.

The EXIF shows that the picture in question was taken at 18 mm on a D80. So no matter whether it was the 18-200 (which according to same it was) or the 12-24 mm. 18 mm on DX.
