r.t. dowling
Heard that Nikon is coming out with a new SLR called the N75. Just wondering if anybody else has heard about this, and how it will compare to the N65 and the N80.
armando j. heredia
There's numerous posts on Nikonians.org: http://www.nikonians.org/dcforum/DCForumID5/954.html and http://www.nikonians.org/dcforum/DCForumID5/967.html Initial thoughts seem to indicate it's a potential replacement for the N/F65 - it addresses some of the shortcomings of the older camera and even trumps the N80 by having a vertical shutter option on the battery grip. david_gonzalez
The N75 is already listed and described on the nikonusa.com website.
chuck
Hmmm, It seems to offer 3D multi-sensor flash control, which puts it on a par with Nikon's higher end bodies like the N80 and F100, and is definitely a step up from N65. This body will probably steal quite a bit of sales from the N80.
leif_goodwin8
They say it has mirrors rather than a pentaprism making the viewfinder dark. That won't steal sales from the N80.
david_gonzalez
The Nikon USA site says the N75 has a pentaprism, the N80 a high eyepoint pentaprism, the N65 a pentaprism, the N55 a "penta-dach-mirror". Since they go out of their way to point out the mirror type viewfinder in the N55, I would have to believe the N75 has a glass pentaprism instead of a pentamirror setup. hique
Even the older F-70 and 90 can make 3d multi segment balanced fill flash and stuff.
chuck
Yes, but not the newer N65, N55 and N60.
erick_lamontagne
Do people really go to a camera shop, look at a few camera and say: "I really like that one, it has everything I need... oh! it has mirrors instead of a pentaprism? Forget about it and lets buy a F100!"??? I don't think anyone cares if it has a pentamirror or prism except for a few photo.nut.
leif_goodwin8
Several sources including a UK magazine state that the N75 has a penta-dach view finder. It looks like Nikon are putting out conflicting info.
