Driving northwest along the Potomac River out of Alexandria and out into suburbia, decided to stop at one of those scenic overlooks we usually pass at 50+ mph. Gazing, here, from Virginia into Maryland. Or is that still DC across the river there? That boundary is right around there someplace. One thing that always jumps out along the Potomac are the white-trunked sycamore trees. They're much bigger than they appear from a distance, and catch the sun no matter the time of year. Landscapes, anyone? Let's see some photos on this Nikon Wednesday. D810 with a 24-70/2.8. 2

Dieter Schaefer Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 This morning's sunrise. Made me run out of the house grabbing the first camera at hand - with the 200-500 attached. Not suitable, so back to switch to the 16-80 and out again - in my pyjamas and bathrobe. Naturally - though I had hoped it to be ingrained in my brain by now - I forgot to check the camera settings. The had needed changing - badly - 1/1600 and f/4 isn't the best setting to shoot a sunrise with. 5
