babouphoto
Weird question but I really don't like the champagne color which is not very discreet and wondering if anyone had their Mamiya 7 repainted in black. I asked Precision Camera to see if they can do it so will post their answer later as well.
c_watson1
Gaffer's tape? Repaints are usually a dependable resale killer.
babouphoto
Good idea! I actually did not expect to get a single response for this post so thanks for weighing in - Haha!
JDMvW
A Mamiya 7 is a camera that still has a lot of resale value, so I wouldn't paint it if it were mine. There are leather cases made for it (e.g., Hand-made leather camera cases for Mamiya 7/7II and Fujifilm TX-1/Hasselblad Xpan | japan exposures). They are hand-made and a luxury item, but ... Mamiya 7.
babouphoto
Thanks. Resale value is not as important as my working comfort but I get your point. Will see if I can do the gaffer tape or some other covering for it. Cases drive me crazy as you need to remove the camera to load the film. It's bad enough for 35mm with 36 exposures to not want to have to do it for 120 film with 10 exposures each time!
JDMvW
I take your point on the cases. Haven't used any for years. I am grateful when I buy a camera for my collection that has a non-mildewed case, which I promptly strip off and throw into a box...

andyfalsetta
How about stopping by a vehicle graphics company and seeing if they can "wrap" your camera in a flat black film?
