Mamiya M645 1000s flash sync

Ive been using a Mamiya M645 1000s wi CDs prism 80mm f2.8 and 150mm

F4.0. I used on my last portrait session and it is apparently have a

sync problem now. I am sure I had the shutter speed set to 60 becase

I only use with flash.

 

Now if it is in fact a shutter problem is it worth fixing? I could

shoot everything at 30 instead of 60 but its not always practical. I

bought the above system used for $800US. If its not worht fixing

what should I look for to replace it. Staying with mamiya would be

nice because I already have two lenses.

I've heard of this before, usually it's a problem with the synch terminals, one is more reliable than the other, can't remember which mind.

Hi Sam, I also own a 1000s and i contacted mamyia at info@mamyia.com the tech reps answer email quickly. they will inform you what to do. their turn around time for repairs is quicker if you delt with them direct then go through a camera dealer.good luck Tony Luzzi New Haven,Ct

The sync. terminal on the side of the Mamiya 645 series is a known weak spot. My understanding is that the problem usually involves soldering that has gone bad at the terminal. A local repair shop charges $35 to fix this. I would try local before sending to $Mamiya$.

HAve you tried using the hot shoe? My x terminal is unreliable, but my flash has a hot shoe option, which works for me. Your problem might be different than mine.
