John Di Leo
I just received the ac adapter, EP-5B, for my d810. Is there a way to make it fit with the battery door closed? The door just hanging there seems like an accident waiting to happen. It also appears to demand tripod use so the door can hang freely?
Andrew Garrard
See page 442 of the D810 manual. I don't have my D810 with me, but there's supposed to be an area at the bottom inside of the grip (below the Fn button) that will flip out; it's labelled "6" on the diagram on p.3 of the manual. With it folded open, you should be able to feed the power cable of the battery through the gap (next to the battery compartment hinge), and close the battery compartment door. I hope that helps! John Di Leo
THANK YOU! I would've never found that. There is a little rubber grommet there on the forward hinge side, that needs to be disengaged for it to fit flush. It's camouflaged to look like the camera's finish. Andrew Garrard
:-) Score one for the tedious man with the manuals downloaded. Glad to help.
