Kiev 88 What the heck is this filter? Shutter Speed?

I bought the Kiev88 kit from Kalimex. It seems to work

alright so far I guess. Only thing is I can't figure

out is the filter that comes with the kit. It's described

as "yellow/green". I'm not sure exactly what it's for. I

do black and whte, so my guess would be it corresponds to

a #11 or #13. Does anyone know for sure what this thing is.

Also, anyone know how I can have the shutter speed tested

to make sure it's correct. Kalimex assures me they test this

but I have my doubts. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

the yellow-green filter is for darkening skies with B+W film. It is not bad but I prefer a lot more contrast in my skies.

You can check your shutter and the aperture when you shoot at the same conditions at different f-stop/ time combinations.

Kiev filters have filter factor on mount.

 

UV marked 1, i.e., no change.

 

Yellow/Green marked 1.4, i.e. about plus 2/3 F-stop is needed.
