mark_stephan2
I bought a Minolta MD 35-70 f3.5 lens hood for my MD 35-70 f3.5 lens and it's to big. I tried the hood on a lens with 58 and 62mm filter threads and it doesn't thread onto to them either. Is my lens hood a 2 part lens hood? It's just a little to big for the lens. I've seen other Minolta lens hoods that are two parts and that's got me to thinking I need another part.
vitor fonseca
The Minolta MD 35-70/3.5 uses a clip-on hood.
You see a photo of the hood : <a href=" If the hood is a screw on it should be 55mm to attach to the filter thread. Can you post some image of the lens?
More information about the lens: http://wiki.vitorfonseca.com/MinoltaMD35-70mmf35ZOOM.ashx
waldemar_schmid
There has been 3 generations of this zoom. The links from Vitor shows generation 2 or 3, wich used both clip on hoods. But the 1st generation had no clip on, but a 2nd, bigger filter thread (in addition to the 55 thread all generations have). This thread is something special, bigger than 58, but smaller than 62 and was used for the original Minolta hood for this lens.
Mine came used without a hood, I could never find a hood for the outer thread and use a 55 hood in the inner thread instead.
Greetings Waldemar
mark_stephan2
I know this is a late reply but thanks for your help. My hood is for the first model and since it doesn't fit the 58 or 62mm filter it's useless but a good learning experience. I should have done more research before buying the hood. The lens btw is fantastic!
