rick_robinson2
I plan to buy a Battery Grip for my Sony a200. Are the 3rd party battery grips (Linc, Tree Koala, Travor, etc.) on ebay any good? They look decent in the ads and are 1/2 the Sony price. Anyone using one of these grips? Opinions?
Joe Lopez
Someone on eBay is selling the original Sony grip for $140, which is cheaper than I've seen them elsewhere. Meanwhile, the grip has disappeared from the Sony Style website [along with the A200/300/350 as the successor models are now listed for pre-order], and I suppose that likely means that whatever is out there in the retail distribution channel is all there will be of these accessories.
steve_c.5
You simply won't do better than the Sony grips. Well worth the extra bucks.
e_wright
I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. I only needed it for the extra battery capacity and the shutter button. My 3rd party grip cost $99 from Japan and it does exactly what I need it to do. Now if you need the extra bells and whistles and adjustment options then you better go with Sony.
