rob_skeoch3
This is a lens that I don't use all that often. I find macro photography a lot of fun, but just don't do it that often.

I went to the local Butterfly Conservatory for a few hours with the 100mm and the small macro flashes that sit on the end of the lens. I was pretty impressed by both.

I found the lens very sharp. Check out the eye on the first butterfly... it's tack sharp. I was also surprised how close you could focus... I know it's a macro but still I didn't know they would focus that close.

Overall I thought it was a fun lens and was very impressed with the optical quality.... the compositions need a little work.

-Rob

rob_skeoch3
I think I should have stopped down a few more stops to try and get the whole wing sharp. F5.6 isn't much depth of field with macro.

ablyth
It is a nice lens, I enjoy it. Be careful with the flash, as there's a slight shadow under that last butterfly
