melvin_krick
Hello to all. I have just acquired a nice clean used Maxxum 5 with 2 lenses. My problem is that every time I shoot a pic the display LCD goes blank and then I have to turn the switch off and then back on to restore the display and shutter release. This is in the P fully automatic mode. Otherwise every thing else works.
michael_hohner
If this is not caused by bad batteries, I'd return the camera.
ian green
this problem _can_ be caused with nearly dead batteries try new fresh ones and recheck if problem persists either return the camera or be ready to wait at least a month for service to repair it
melvin_krick
In regard to the above, Ive already tried new batteries and the problem is still the same. I can use the camera since the film advance still works but if I keep turning the switch off and on between shots eventually I feel that I am going to wear the switch out or break it. When the mirror comes back down after an exposure, does it hit some kind of contact that shuts off the power? I cant find a listed repair manual on the Internet. ian green
beware of switch falling off if you going to use the camera that way also check the net for 'Minolta Service Parts.pdf' email me if you cannot find it
michael_hohner
You've bought a broken camera. Go back to the seller and ask for a refund.
