dan_dukro
Hello Folks, My wife recently bought an A100, and we would like to buy some sort of cover to protect the rear LCD. The peel and stick films don't work well. Any suggestions as to what to buy and from where? I am assuming that any rigid protective cover DOES NOT attach directly to the LCD surface. We would not buy one that did. It would have to be removable without damaging or scarring the camera. Thanks for any input you provide. Duke P.S.: Today, when she was walking around with her A100 she got a few curious glances. However, I got more stares from people as I was using my Zeiss Ikon Contaflex Super BC. I just had to chuckle at that.
steve_c.5
I don't have any suggestions for this, but I don't really worry about it much. It's a pretty durable LCD, as long as you don't let it rattle around against sharp objects. What I did want to suggest is the Hoodloupe from Hoodman. It's an eyepiece that lets you see the LCD even in bright sunlght. You wear it around your neck. It really helps you see the screen in any conditions. The A100 has a coating on it that makes the screen hard to see in some lighting.
james_frater
The sticky plastic ones do a good job, you just got to buy the right ones. If you prepare the surface correctly and apply it well, you cannot even tell anything is covering it. My KM 7D is great, cause it came with a snap on rear LCD protector. s._c.
We picked up a stick on film covering from Shield Zone and so far so good. From what I understand, they use this material on military helicopter props. I would have liked a rigid protective cover too like the one my brother uses on his A700. j_kluska
http://www.cameraarmor.us/ I closed the barn door after the horse got out....Translation: I purchased protection for my camera AFTER it was accidentally damaged. The LCD screen cost me $300.00 to have replaced; OUCH! This product is a rubber housing for the camera and an acrylic shield for the LCD. The rubber lens hood looks a little goofy, but after that last repair, I don't really care about how the camera looks. All of the function buttons are fully aperational. I'm likin it, so far. Good luck.
