orlandogarcia
Does Anyone knows if there's a Remote Capture software compatible with a Sony DSC-R1 for professional Photography? :-)
michael_hohner
Wrong forum. This is for the SLR system. But you've cross-posted, maybe you'll find what you want in the other forum.
andrew robertson
The DSC-R1 is not an SLR. Sorry.
peterblaise
. BUT in spite of the forum (mis)name, THIS is the right forum for ANYTHING Konica, Minolta or Sony -- check the history! You'll see P&S and rangefinders and TRLs and so on. The goal of recent reorganization was to REDUCE the number of forums, not increase them, so it makes perfect sense for anyone with any gear on it that says MINOLTA or KONICA MINOLTA, and thereby KONICA, or SONY, and since SONY inherited MINOLTA, er KONICA MINOLTA SLRs, then ANY gear with ANY of these names should rightly come here. Why have two forums where Sony service and support are spread across for SLRs and non-SLRs - why have two forums where Sony SLRs go this way and Sony non-SLRs go that way? Why have two forums where Minolta SLRs now go this way and Minolta non-SLRs go somewhere else, somewhere where other people know little or nothing about Minolta non-SLRs, even though so much of my experience, accessories and service support for my Minolta non-SLRs is IDENTICAL to my experience, accessories and service support for my Minolta SLRs? And so much of my experience, accessories and service support for my Konica and Konica Minolta non-SLRs is IDENTICAL to my experience, accessories and service support for my Konica and Konica Minolta SLRs. And so much of my experience, accessories and service support for my Sony non-SLRs is IDENTICAL to my experience, accessories and service support for my Sony SLRs. And so much of my experience, accessories and service support for my Konica, Minolta, Konica Minolta and Sony non-SLRs is IDENTICAL to my experience, accessories and service support for my Konica, Minolta, Konica Minolta and Sony SLRs. Get the picture? ;-) So, perhaps it's time to review and re-change the name of this forum to at least : [sony/Minolta/Konica] ... and drop the [sLR system] from the forum name since the Sony/Minolta/Konica non-SLR systems use the same accessories, service and support as the Sony/Minolta/Konica SLR systems! Or: [Konica and Minolta and Sony]! Click! kai_griffin
Looks to me like they ought to rename this forum "Moonbase Alpha".
peterblaise
. Orlando, What did SONY say when you asked them, or when you asked the dealer from which you bought your Sony DSC-R1 camera -- that is, if you've bought one already? Are you shopping for software BEFORE deciding on what camera to buy? I browsed to Sony.com and found: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DSCR1&UpdateType=Everything&SelectOS=7 ... that shows file conversin software and camera ROM updates, but no remote control software for the camera: - 06/20/2006 Image Converter Image Data Converter SR Ver.1.0 Update for Microsoft? Windows? XP and Windows 2000 Operating Systems - Provides multiple benefits. See more.. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=DSCR1&upd_id=2202&os_id=7 - 11/30/2005 Firmware DSC-R1 Firmware Update - Updates the firmware of the DSC-R1 Cyber-shot? digital still camera to version 2. See more.. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=DSCR1&upd_id=2039&os_id=7 ... so let's click on the [Contact Support] link http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/support-contacts.pl at Sony.com and I found this: - Digital Video and Imaging 1-800-222-7669 Hours: Mon-Fri 9:00AM-10:00PM / Sat-Sun 10:30AM-7:15PM EST ... so now all you have to do is call and then report back and let us know what they tell you! Now, a Google search for [remote control software for sony dsc-r1]: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=remote+control+software+for+sony+dsc-r1 ... leads me to 52,000 answers, and maybe one is appropriate? Most just refer to: http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayMoreInfoAccessories-Start;sid=0nhy6eBbzzpzVaVL8-V44q9Lq6KHeoof8zw=?ProductSKU=RMVD1 ... which is a shutter release on a cable. "... This Sony wired remote control for camcorders and Cyber-shot? cameras* puts control within your reach. This precision remote gives you the ability to zoom, record, and control shutter release functions from several feet away..." ... and Sony makes "remote control" tripods which allow camera control from the tripod handle -- NEAT! ... but NOT what you are after, eh? Let us know what you find, Orlando! Click!
