p.magnuson
The flash works in all variations of use but I am getting odd results with wireless flash. Usually the problem is overexposure, but occasionally under exposure. I guess that when the flash is used off camera, it needs manually setting up and having never used even an on camera flash before I am a bit confused. Is there a certain mode I should use the camera in? Am I getting overexposure because the aperture is open or should this work anyway? Should the camera be set to program mode? Does the zoom on the flash need to be adjusted? It goes to default 28mm when off camera, does this depend on the camera zoom or how far the flash is from subject? Can I lower the power of the flash whilst it is in wireless mode - or will this just confuse the exposures more? If anyone uses this combination I would appreciate some tips. Pete. weatherman
I never got satisfactory results with severel KM bodies (dynax 7 and dimage 7i). So I always measure with a handheld flashmeter and set my aperture in Manual mode(both flashgun and aperture) when using wireless. That is the only way I use the wireless mode. Otherwise as you said i think light sensor in the flash-gun always over-exposes(or under sometimes) the scene or if you are in luck your subject even might be exposed properly!!! About zooming issue, this way(setting totally manually) I don't have to think about how close I am to the subject
