eugene_cunningham
I bought this lens in Australia last July and used it extensively in Europe on my vacation. The results I got from this lens were amazing. I would say a bit better than my old 80-200 APO G which I purchased in 1995 regarding color saturation and above all speed. I had to send my Dynax 9 to Japan to be updated to accomodate all the functions on this lens mainly in the AF department. All my equiptment built of over many years concists soley of konicaminolta gear. Dynax 9, 9XI, 2x5600 HS (D)flash guns, 24-105 (D), 20mm wideangle, 50 1/4, 100 Macro (D), 70-200 SSM APO G (D), 2X tele converter (D), plus a lot of accessories like manfrotto tripods etc. When the new Dynax digital which replaces the 9 comes out before the end of the year I hope to purchase one. Any test results done yet on the new 70-200SSM lense?
george_rhodes
Popular Photography tested the lens, along with the new SSM 300mm f2.8, a while back and gave it very good results. They gave it better scores than they gave the new Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS lens. Surprisingly, the KM SSM 300mm received quite disappointing results. If you check the Popular Photography archives, you should be able to find the test results.
coconutdaydream
that lens costs a lot like $1,800 on adorama or something.
eugene_cunningham
US$1800.00 in the Us. Not a bad price for it. I paid AUS$2861.00 Duty Free and AUS$931.00 for the 2X teleconverter (D). Photographic equiptment in the States are cheaper to buy compared to OZ. Dynax7 (maxxum) here is AUS$2499.
