randall_pukalo
Does anyone know if it is still possible to buy replacement parts for older Minolta's, and if so, where? I need to find a replacement focusing screen for my XG-1. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Brian
Camera repairers tend to keep old bodies to cannibalize for spares. If you can find a repairer specializing in Minolta he will probably have one. He may want to do the repair rather than sell you the part though. guy_mansford
I'd suggest buying a poor quality example of your particular camera. I have 3x XD7's, Two to use and one to use for spares. Cheap and effective. This will probably be cheaper than getting someone else to do the repair, if you can do it yourself. Two going on Ebay at present for low prices- but probably too good to tear apart!
muneer
You might be able to get some spares from Antony at Rokkor files. Go to www.rokkorfiles.com and leave a message for him. I was able to find a screen for my ageing XD-11 with him. Hope thats helpful.
