ben_worthington
hi guys the Dynax 5 lets you set aperture priority, shutter priority or programme mode. what i dont get is, you can customise the "programm mode" so that you can manually set the ap. or shutter speed; but isn't that just the same as using the A and S priority modes? whats the difference between using say shutter priority, and using programme mode customised to enable you to change the shutter speed? thanks Ben p.s. i know, i know, we should all use manual mode anyway... yuval_chipman
Using the custom Pa or Ps modes, you can basically use it as if you are using P mode (including auto flash). After half a press on the shutter release, the aperature and shutter parameters are set automatically. Using Pa, you can then change the aperature up or down from the set values, while shutter value changes in response, to keep the same exposure value. Ps works the same, only you can change the shutter speed. Working in A (aperature priority) is different. You first set the aperature value you want to use. The camera will not change this value automatically. pressing the shutter release half way will set the shutter speed according to light metering. S mode is the same as A, setting shutter speed to a fixed value. I hope I made this clear enough.
ben_worthington
thanks. so i guess the benefit of the PA/PS modes is that you get all the features of the P mode that are normally lost when switch to A or S mode? but what are the other features only available in P mode, i can only think of automatic flash? ben
