No foolin' it's April! Let us see what you have been up to, FD shooters! (Remember: FL, R etc. also welcomed, as well as Canon FD and older Canon SLR lenses on other cameras.) Have a great month!

I am still obsessed with skies. I shot the following with a Canon EF + FDn 80-200/4 two touch.

00drUD-562084384.jpg.3e258c42268c54b466e36ef6f1b8dc5d.jpg

Nice one Alex, very geometric! Must have been a great day for making contrails...
At the risk of re-stating the obvious yet again, a nice wide 50mm prime is a great asset in dim indoor light...these are from the Tokyo Gas Museum.
It seems the Red Shouldered Hawk has found a temporary home as it was back again yesterday afternoon. Came swooping into the back yard flushing all the birds away, landed on a tree trunk perch in the middle of the feeders, and then stood there 15-20 minutes wondering why the birds weren't coming back…finally figured it might as well go after a flea.

Canon FDn 70-150/4.5.
A 30+ year old, inexpensive, moderate speed, push/pull zoom...which actually works backwards from most...continues to make me shake my head at its outstanding IQ. The moderate 4.5 max aperture is a non-issue with good light and/or a sandbag / tripod. Excellent color, sharpness, bokeh...doesn't even have 'Macro Mode', yet zooming up this Yellow Rhododendron shows hairs on the stems sharp as a tack.
• 2 weeks later...

Almost the end of the month so lets post one I took with the FD 300mm F2.8.
I ran out of space to frame it how I wanted and it was bad weather so I took it this way. Planning to go again for more ideas I have with this monster lens and the A7Rii. :)

Thanks Alex S!
I cannot wait to go back with more time and better weather as I have several ideas on how to use this amazing lens. I shoot mostly native lenses these days, Zeiss, top Tamron ones like the 15-30mm F2.8 but this Canon FD 300mm has no problem keeping up with newer lenses. Its just marvelous :)
