Lenses for B&W photography

I am going to buy Nikon N80 with series of lenses.(according to the

recommendation here)I would like to know which lenses would be my

first best choices ? I have 750 $ budget for lenses. Someone has

suggested these lenses 24/2.8 35/2 50/1.8 85/1.8 what do you say ?

I am into B&W full body shots (enviromental nudes), B&W Urban

snapshot (stories from the city life) (Please Have a look at the

photography samples which I like)

I shoot urban landscapes, street photography and occasionally portraits. My main lens is a

24/2.8

Suggestion - Start with the 50 (dirt cheap but excellent optical qualities) and a gently used 24 and spend the other $350-400 on film and processing to better decide whether and how your lens assortment is limiting you, while at the same time gaining valuable shooting experience.

 

They are all excellent lenses.

�[� Z : if i go out without specific plans i take the same lens 24.2.8 MF with only an "old" body , the F2A . by the wy: these lenses dont know if i use BW or COLOR film -gg-

Walter, probably because yours is too old. The newer versions (mark XII with PRL a.k.a. Palette Recognition Lens option) do it. You should upgrade.

I think it's an excellent setup but I'm prejudice. I have a very similar set (minus the 50/1.8).
