Philipp500
Hi everybody. While waisting time on the net I came across this pic of the Beatles with what very much looks like a Canon S7 and 50 /0,95. (could it have been the F1,2 ?)
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PHjGNAewdu8/U1cqtbXSZoI/AAAAAAAAYGM/egX29v2XpPY/s1600/img119.jpg
I'm really not a Beatle person and can't even tell you if the guy holding the camera is one of them or a fan. If he is, I was just wandering what might have happened to the camera... Imagine it with a name engraved... Thanks for reading.
machts gut
It's George Harrison. It's very obvious that George was ahead of his time, because he is just watching the histogram on the back screen of the Canon. Ringo gave advice to expose to the right.

Thanks for shareing.
john_shriver
That's definitely a 7 (selenium meter) with the 50/0.95. They had money to burn by that time, so he could surely afford the "dream lens."
He might be looking at the light meter, or the range switch therefor. Or it may just be too heavy to hold any higher.
craig_shearman1
There was something either here on Photo.net or in one of the photo magazines a while back about one of the Beatles being into photography. Something like "a Beatle took OUR picture." I think it showed one of them pointing a camera out the window of a car while going past fans. Not sure if it was Harrison or others.
Mike Gammill
Ringo was using a black Pentax SLR in "A Hard Days Night" from 1964. Might have been a bit too early for a Spotmatic but definetly a Pentax.
mark_pierlot
Great shot, Philippe. Thanks for posting the link.

I'm going to show it to my friend, who's both a Beatlemaniac and an amateur photographer.

machts gut
@Mike - Wasn't it in "Help"? That would have been in 1965, a year later. I found a link. Scroll down a bit and you'll see some pics with George, Ringo and different Pentax cameras.

http://filmphotographyproject.com/content/reviews/2014/12/asahi-pentax-spotmatic
Mike Gammill
Stefan, it's been a while since I saw Help, but in A Hard Day's Night Ringo takes a walk shortly before a live TV appearance. He has the Pentax with him and takes a few photos. And true to form, he gets in trouble.

machts gut
You are right, Mike. That was the scene I was thinking of. Always thought it was from Help. Thanks for the link. You tube is a gem.
Mike Gammill
And the actor that played the part of the boy Ringo talked to grew up to play Herr Flick on the U.K. series Allo Allo.
