mark_lapolt___new_haven__c
I've been using a 124G for a few months and like everyone else, get frustrated at having to take the camera of the tripod and unscew the quick release to release the back of the camera to change rolls. I was thinking about finding/making a 1/4-20 stud, male on one end to screw into the tripod mount, female on the other to mate with the QR plate/tripod, about 3 or so inches long. The advantage of this, is that I should now have enough room to manipulate the latch wheel on the bottom of the camera without unscrewing the QR plate. Possibly without taking the camera off the tripod. (although I don't think the camera back hinge is designed to support the weight of the camera) I was wondering if anyone has tried a similar arangement, and if they have had any success. jersey_emt
I don't take off the QR plate. I just twist the (tighly-attached)plate to open the back. Sometimes I have to re-tighten the QR plate, but it's a lot more convenient than having to take it off and put it back on after each roll.
