User_2019667
I'm going to agree with so many others here in saying that I would stick with the D90. I switched to a D7000 a year or so ago and have not really seen any difference in picture quality at all. I am a rank amatuer but I do have some very nice shots that I took with my D90. Maybe a couple good prime lenses and a good tripod is what you need. I would not give up my D90 for a D3300.
Landrum Kelly
If you can afford to, you might want to keep the D90, regardless of what else you buy. It is a classic, and it was the end of a line of cameras that were in some ways unique. I wish that I had not gotten rid of mine. I do have the D7000, which is a sweet little camera, but today I would buy the D7100 if I were upgrading in the DX line. (I shoot mostly FX cameras.)

--Lannie
