neil_poulsen8
I'm curious about this adapter. Is there any use for it on a Mamiya Press camera, or is it designed only for using a Mamiya Press back in vertical orientation on an RB system?

Given the placement of the viewfinder on a Mamiya Press camera, using it on one of these cameras wouldn't work. The film holder would interfere with the viewfinder.
waldemar_schmid
AFAIK it's only for use with the RB 67. It doesn't work on the Universal.

waldemar_schmid
Reinhard, I have one, bought used with cardboard box. No leaflet or users guide, but the box says "RB 67". It is also shown in the manual for the RB67, but not in the Univeral manual.
ondebanks

is it designed only for using a Mamiya Press back in vertical orientation on an RB system?

Yes, that's exactly the reason for this adapter. RB users are accustomed to not having to rotate the camera body in order to change film orientiation, so this was Mamiya's solution for portrait orientation of Press backs on a stationary RB body.
reinhard_blanck
o.k. that makes more sense. I have one but saw little use on my universal. so now I know how to sell it best. thanks.
