AlexandruD
Hello. Can anyone speak about the quality of an older Sigma 300mm f/4 D APO Macro? I would use it on a d7100 for wildlife photography.
don_cooper
Mine has excellent image quality, good autofocus for a screwdriver lens, but it's no longer useful due to fungus in the forward elements. If the lens doesn't have my problem it should be very good.
roland_furrer
I am definitely very pleased with my specimen. And I am happy to have found one 2nd hand in very good condition. You can use this lens wide open with no hesitation, handling and workmanship is nice, and the almost macro capability is a unique feature in this focal length. I used this lens on a D300 and D700. I would say it plays in the same optical league as my venerable Nikkor Ai 300m f/4.5 ED (non IF). By the way, the same goes for its bigger brother, the Sigma 400mm f/5.6 APO Macro, which I also own. Just two amazing lenses.
