Madagascar: 31-05-2014/ 12-06-2014

<p>I'm planning a tour in Madagscar. (I have yet been in Zanzibar and in Kenya for photo safari).<br>

My tour will start from Antanarivo and will end at Tulear and at Ifaty for 3 days at the sea.<br>

I'm asking you suggestions.<br>

<br />My photo camera is Nikon D800 Full Frame camera.<br>

I have the following lenses:<br>

Samyang 14mm f2,8<br>

Nikkor 24.70 f2,8<br>

Nikkor 70-200 f4 VRIII<br>

Nikkor 300 f4 AFS<br>

Sigma 105 f2,8 macro EX HSM OS<br>

Sigma 150 f2,8 macro EX HSM OS<br>

x1,4 Sigma <br>

x1,4 TC Nikon<br>

(I have also prime nikkor lenses afd as 24, 28, 35, 50 f 1.4, 85 f1.8, tamron 90 macro, micro nikkor 55 AIS f2,8 and other but I think to take only zoom, and macro or tele lenses above indicated).<br>

<br />I have also nikon 1 V1 with two zoom standard, wide and tele I used in Kenya as second body and as videocamera for videos, and GoPro (to use as action camera or as sub-water camera).<br>

Suggestions?<br>

I like to take photos to nature, landscapes, animals, people and macro, so I think to put all lenses above described into my Lowepro Flipside 400 AW .<br>

Do you think I have to take a small travel tripod and if yes, wich do you suggest? <br>

<p>I'd bring only one macro lens, a fast prime (35 or 50), a 2nd body (always, things break when you least suspect it), a (small) flash and a monopod. 300 mm + converter isn't very long so I'd take a cropped body for really long shots. Some lemurs may be very far away.<br>

The rainforest can be rather dark and you may go out at night on a few occasions. Then a flash and a monopod come in handy.</p>

<p>You will probably just use your 24-70mm f2.8 and your 70-200mm VR most of the time. I would take the wide lens and the Sigma 150mm macro OS too. Why not take a couple of wide primes too? They don't weigh much. (AF 50mm f1.4 D and 35mm maybe . . . for night shooting.)</p>

I have 35 afd f2 but I'd like to have a Sigma 35 f1,4 but for the moment I cannot buy it.<br>

I think that 24-70 nikkor and 70-200 f4 VR will be the principal lenses I'll take with me. I'm thinking to take also 300 afs f4 and nikon TC 1.4. I' like also 150 Sigma macro but also 105 Sigma macro (the first one for little animals, flowers, the second one also for portraits). <br>

About tripod thanks a lot for the suggestion! I'm planning to buy one. I'm not yet shure wich one but MeFoto seems very good, I'm thinking to buy the more strong RoadTrip MeFoto instead of the Backpacker version because seems more strong (Before your suggestions I was thinking about Sirui T-1005X or Sirui T-1204X).<br>
