Hello everyone Recently, Photo.net really lured me into photograph

as a habit. I am thinking about EXPAND or UPGRAGE my equipments,

but not sure what and where I should focus on. The following are all

my current equipments................

Nikon: N-90s body, AF 35-135mm 3.5/4.5 Nikkor (Non-D),SB-26 Flash.

Ricoh: XRX-2000 body (Manual with Aperture and shutter priority),

50mm 1.7 Ricoh Lens, 28-200mm 4/5.6 Ricoh Lens, Flash.

Other: Bogen 3011 Tripod with 3031 head.

I am starting learning shooting candid and portraits of my friends,

and love to shoot some landscapes when I have the opportunities.

Currently, I only shoot negatives, but would like to shoot some

slides. I really like my N-90s, use it the most. I am not sure

whether I should upgrade, expand or keep what I have.

1.Should I keep the Ricoh system and/or my 35-135mm Nikkor?

2.Do I need another lenses for my N90? If yes, what should I get? 50,

24, 28, 18-35, 28-105(if I sell my 35-135)?

3.Or I should buy a scanner or projector?

4. Or any other suggestions?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Upgrading your equipment depends on what you want to do. If you like and use your Ricoh system, then keep it. If not, why bother storing it?

candids, in my experience, are usually available light - for that you'd need either 800/1600 speed film, or a lens much faster than your 3.5-4.5 zoom. Hell, both cant hurt. Landscapes are probably going to benefit from a wider lens than a 35mm. There are currently 2 24mm 2.8D nikkors in the classifieds forum, one for $198 and the other for a little more (hows that for memory? :-) ) you might want to consider buying one.

Do you want to scan your negs or slides? If so buy a scanner. Do you want to project your slides? If so, buy a projector. Dont get caught up in the "equipment geek" craze - If you buy stuff for the sake of buying stuff, you're losing sight of what you IMO should want to do - create photos
