Canon 50mm f0.95

It helps that the RD-1s has a 1.6 crop sensor. Being that the sensor is much smaller than a full-sized 36mm X 24mm sensor, you're only using the central part of the len's image circle, which is the sharpest part.

The Canon 50/0.95 is actually a surprisingly sharp lens. The key is that the lens mount has to be properly calibrated to a camera body. We're talking sub-millimeter tolerances here. I use one on a Leica M3 and love the results. A friend recently bought a Leica M Type 240, and I'll be trying my 50/0.95 lens on that camera sometime soon.

Jim, you're right about the lens performing best in the center. I used to use it on a Canon 7s and just had it adapted to M-mount. The tech calibrated it to both infinity and minimum focusing distance and am very happy with it. Look forward to seeing and hearing about your results onm the M240.
