chris_burgess3
Hello,
I know, this is an incredibly dumb question, but here goes. I have a Nikon N90s camera, love it, but would like to not have my MF-25 back imprint anything on the film. I'm in the middle of a roll, so I'd like to know, if I just take the batteries out of the back, will the back not print anything on the film on the rest of the roll?
Thanks

Michael R Freeman
That would certainly work, but you should be able to set the MF-25 so that it will not imprint data.

http://www.butkus.org/chinon/nikon/nikon_mf-25/nikon_mf-25.htm
chris_burgess3
Yes, I have a copy of the manual, and it even says at the beginning that it can be set to not imprint, but for the life of me, I can't find it mentioning it after that. If anyone knows the trick, please let me know.
Thanks
Michael R Freeman
I used to own an MF-23 for the F4. Nikon instruction manuals for databacks are atrocious! Apparently the one for the MF-25 is no better.

Can you cycle the MODE button so that [PRINT] does not display in the center of the LCD?
chris_burgess3
Yes, I can cycle it so that [PRINT] doesn't display, and there's just -- -- -- instead of time and month. Could that be the shutoff?
Michael R Freeman
Yes, that should be it. At least it is with any of the multiple Nikon databacks I have owned for other Nikon SLRs. A "-- -- --" displayed on the LCD equals "do not imprint".
