Bronica sq 6x4.5 back query

<p>I have bought from ebay a 6x4.5 sq back for 220 film that was how it was advertised.<br>

The photo was of the back where it clearly says 6 x 4.5.<br>

however the film insert is marked just 220<br>

Is the film gate meant to be square?<br>

the insert should be 120j or 220j right?</p>

<p>or do i have a standard 6x6 220 back?<br>

any help or pointer would be appreciated</p>

<p>The 645 masking should be obvious at the film gate that meets the body. The insert just transports the film, 120 or 220.</p>

<p>The backs are made to advance 6x6 or 6.4.5. If the back is marked 645 it *should* adavance the film one 635 frame *and* be masked for 645. The insert determins if it's 120 or 220 film.</p>

<p>Run a roll throught it, I think you will be fine.</p>

<p>A few 6 x 4.5 backs on ebay for sq seem to show a square aperture or is the masked bit under the dark slide?</p>

<p>I have a 120 6X45 back for the SQ. The back is labelled SQ 6X45.<br>

The insert is labelled 120J.<br>

The mask is behind the dark slide.<br>

I believe the insert you want should be labelled 220J.<br>

Put a scrap roll of film in it and see how far it counts.<br>
