Tony Hadley - love the driftwood, looks like a dying crocodile or something!
Georg S - keep shooting film, those images are gorgeous. Dragonboats are kewl.
Simon Jenkins - Mick Jagger? I knew he'd gone downhill... excellent portrait.
Kent Shafer - simply beautiful, thanks for sharing that precious moment.
Bogdan Nicolescu - always like seeing your glimpses into that far-off, mystical country.
Panayotis Papadopoulos - did you take the dog home with you? :) What a cute pup! Nice series.

For me, just some shots of an old abandoned hospital in Ely Minnesota. It's actually a national historic site but Ely is soooo damned remote, there's no influx of tourist dollars to get it fixed up. These are all shot with a Pronea 6i on Fuji Nexia film. The lens wasn't quite wide enough and I had to use lens correction to remove distortion, but hopefully the shots aren't too bad.

There have been quite a few threads in the lighting forum lately about casting sharp shadows. Here's the result of an experimentation with some very basic equipment to simulate a venetian-blind effect. The gobo was just a sheet of stiff A4 paper cut with kitchen scissors, while the light source was a little hotshoe flash (Metz 40Mz-1i) about 2m away from the gobo and ~ 3m away from the subject.

D800 + 75-150mm Nikon series E @ 150mm and f/6.3. That little series E zoom never fails to amaze. At 100% crop every tiny "hair" of the peacock feathers can be clearly seen.

00bpmW-541410284.jpg.2ffbe7a4ffea9edeec494c9a41dfba1e.jpg

Kent, your moment with Daphne is precious! Love the high key. I'm sending a shot of a commercial fisherman and his son repairing line. The light and colors attracted me to making the photo. (My son-in-law and nephew now own my D5100 and D5000. I've pared down to a P7700.)

00bpmj-541410484.jpg.5519b0010f525230891f618383c88784.jpg

Nice one Shun! Are those shadows on the bottom of a pool?

Remember the sign I captured to check out the sharpness of the 80-400mm AF-S at 400mm on this thread: http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00bnh5

That sign is on the side of a playground set including a slide, etc. That entire set up is on sand. I noticed that the playset was casting some interesting shadows on sand. Sometimes simple things can lead to interesting (at least interesting to me) images, although I can see that maybe it is not everybody's cup of tea.

00bpmp-541410984.jpg.d6394bef0a60882ce89887708c219e21.jpg

More great work once again from everyone, gotta love Nikon Wednesday! My image this week is from the archive, and i chose it because of all the news that was going on at Coney Island over the 4th of July holiday. It's not the Astrotower, but i do like the combination of the Cyclone roller coaster and the abandoned parachute jump.

00bpnY-541412084.jpg.db0cf1249d66c9bbf92b75301a712ae9.jpg
