jim_higgins4
There are few CF cards these days, it seems, at Frys and other local outlets.
I have noticed a new brand, MONSTER. Anyone have experience with these CF cards?
nsfbr
No, but everything else I've seen with that brand name is moderate quality and grossly overpriced. Have you considered the Internet? B&H and Adorama are usually quite competitive in their pricing and offer a good variety of names I would trust with my images.
jim_higgins4
Yes, I know about Adorma and B&H but sometimes I am looking for a CF card on the run and
it is slim pickins. I will stick to San Disk and Kingston.
peter_simpson1
I find that money "saved" on off-brand media is rarely worth the trouble. Major brands for me.
ShunCheung
Monster is well known for its expensive cables, e.g. speaker cables, cables for stereo equipment, TV, etc. Not sure when they got into the memory card business. Most likely they just put their brand name on someone else's product.

For memory cards, I stick with either SanDisk or Lexar. I have a couple of Kingston cards and they are fine also.
dave_wilson1
I searched it out, and it seems to be like most Monster products something in the exta durable category. I have used a lot of Monster Professional cables and things and they have been very reliable, and the exchange warranty policy has been no hassles. So that said, I wouldn't hesitate to try one. You can always contact their customer service for more information too.
Spearhead
Monster is a major brand and they are generally very careful about vendors. There's a limited number of suppliers of flash chips, most of the problem chips are from companies that buy chips that test marginally. Monster wouldn't do that.
Music and Portraits Blog: Life in Portugal
