At an event yesterday, there were all kinds of big shots - governor, senators, representatives, industry leaders...even Miss Tennessee!

This guy was my favorite subject. He was manning the carving station at the reception.

00bW87-529687584.jpg.96bebb149a5c4706001ca15015b8791d.jpg

Attached is a picture of my D200 on a Leitz tabletop atop my RAV4 to get a blue sky background. Andoid image is represented during OS downloads by Google to my Nexus 4. The hypercube image in belly of android figure represents 4 spacetime. I did the picture as one of a series to learn layer editing when I purchased PSE11.

00bW8A-529689584.jpg.1ec42d3d4758c31a9f358380396ac553.jpg

Good Morning Everyone,
So wonderful to see one another's work each week, although I haven't done too much lately. I did manage to go out and shoot one of my aloes--in flower for the first time; I love it. (forgot to add 1/20 @ f25)

Hi Everyone,

Great submissions so far, that's an interesting capture Simon Jenkins.

Last week we went camping and I had the chance to do some long exposures trying to get some star trails. The sky was supposed to be clear but we had some clouds anyway which gave me some unexpected results.

00bWBK-529729784.jpg.ea4a9674bdcf4299f03e027a3b482e4b.jpg

Quite a late entry (by UK standards). Took delivery of a Nikon P7100 today - and I'm very impressed so far. At the (low) current price, it's a snip!
This is a very early test shot, taken in macro mode using natural light and essentially unprocessed (not even sharpened, for you pixel-peepers; just resized).
It promises to be a worthy alternative to my D700; I lose IQ and ultimate flexibility but gain size, weight, convenience and ease-of-use (the menus and controls are great!)

00bWCP-529753784.jpg.80d35d406ed92d02df21830677a5b762.jpg

As I was shooting a wedding this last weekend, I hired in a better body. And while things were quiet during the reception, I tried out my Tamron 70-300 VC on it. At 300mm wide open I'm reasonably impressed on a D600.

00bWD2-529763584.jpg.993de9b52dcf7bbb1e87d34883ef311c.jpg

Matt, thanks for sharing the info about the app. I'm not enjoying the three pic experiment much (to me, it's a bit of a mess if they all aren't in succession or posted in one thread, or related in theme), but still like to see what my Nikon buddies are shooting. Lex, you're inspiring me to use my V1 more than I have. Rick Dohme, LOVED your Shrike series. Well done. :)

Happy Wednesday!
What a bumper crop of images! Most varied in a long time!
How about a plasma cutter. Cutting 20mm Steel.

And for variety...
Here's Old Maddie who headed over the Rainbow bridge a year ago today...
(If anything to demonstrate I own more than a 50-500mm lens! got to start using some of the other lenses!)

I'm not sure of the policy on explicit sex, but I got some great close up's of a tree attempting to reproduce with the help of a bunch of bees. I was very suprised at the quality of close up shots the 17-55 was able to get. Not up to par with the 60mm macro, but it focuses fairly close and with moderate croping I liked the results.

00bWEc-529801584.jpg.6fada08eff873618e0297aca9e85edee.jpg
