Tony: nice frame job on the church!
Louis Meluso: interesting colors and excellent composition on the bronze furnace.
Shun: It may not be a sports camera, but the furst shot is superb. Love the long shadow.
Alex S.: nice candid! Aren't all cats reluctant?
Simon Jenkins: you helped out well. Love that first shot, elegant and moody.
John Rowsell: both nice pics, he looks like he was a fun puppy. Aren't they all?

For me, not much with the Nikons this week; been playing around with a Pentax 110, a Minolta XE-5, and a Yashica FR-I. Also picked up a Fuji Instax, the instant thingy. I did manage to capture this bit of woodland foliage .

00bRZh-525141584.JPG.1654c21ac02d0d21323c26d7a84e72fa.JPG

This week we went visiting an old monastery here in Catalonia. I made this picture subexposing deliberately by five or so stops to add more drama.

My neighbor, Dale, on phone while walking his medical service dog, Nevaeh, Monday evening. Gave me a chance to try out the V1 with Fotodiox adapter and 35-70mm f/2.8D AF Nikkor (full manual mode, guesstimating exposure).

Nikon V1, 35-70mm f/2.8D AF Nikkor, ISO 200, 1/1000th @ f/4
Straight from camera JPEG, auto white balance, custom Portrait color mode with reduced saturation. I'd prefer even lower saturation but this is as low as the V1 goes.

While the 35-70/2.8D AF Nikkor produced very good results at f/4-5.6, it's a little heavy and unwieldy with the V1. I'll probably stick with the 50/2 AI and 85/2 AIS for the Fotodiox adapter.

Dale and Nevaeh striking a handsome pose in the sunset. Reminds me of Capt. Picard and Riker. To boldly go where no terrier has gone before.

"Number One! Engage! By that tree over there should do nicely."

V1 with 10-30 VR @ 17mm, ISO 100, 1/2000th @ f/6
Same custom portrait mode in-camera JPEG, reduced saturation.
