Hey Patrick, glad you're feeling better. I spent three weeks with it and am on antibiotics for a secondary infection. This past week was my first time photographing, as well, for a workshop on trees. What I did not realize was that I had left my polarizing filter on, thus the good clouds.
#1

Thanks Howard I am not 100% yet but a lot better. Yeah I had an ear infection from it too. The antibiotics kicked the infection just not the other stuff.
I really like your last tree with the smooth curves and angles. Amazing how sometimes we forget something and it turns out to be right .

I didn't really shoot much this week (I missed out on a photo shoot), so one more from last week instead (I want the POTW to continue to grow in size in 2013).

Well the cold continues here. Clear and cold. I really wish it would move out so we'd get some fresh snow! So I tried to ski and shoot at some places around here that I don't usually ski.
Sunrise from my deck at -15 F. Not a new place, but it was a neat effect I felt like I should get a shot of!
One from on my way to ski yesterday. I skied on the frozen surface of Blue Mesa Reservoir which was pretty neat. Saw a ton of wildlife (eagles, coyotes, and deer).
I also saw him again on the way back home! These birds are really pretty shy. When I stopped the car on the way back a couple hundred yards away from him he got spooked and few off and I didn't even get out of the car.

I just came back from a three days trip to Cayucos, Morro Bay, Hearst Castle, and San Luis Obispo. Many pictures are taken in the coastal area in central part of California.

#3 Fishing After Sunset

<a href=" IMGP5622 src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8080/8404846268_551f594755_c.jpg" alt="" width="530" height="800" />
K-5 and FA 43mm f/1.9. Picture was taken in Cayucos Beach Pier. The guy was dodging to my right to avoid my shot and I pulled to my right as I meant for him and hence the clipping of the fishing pole of the left model -- my gripe for my unpaid models for the night. They were fishing on the pier.

Wabasha, MN is the home of the National Eagle Center. It's located near where the Chippewa river in Wisconsin flows into the Mississippi. The turbulence keeps the water open year round and hundreds of eagles gather there to feed. The Center is home to four bald eagles and a golden eagle. All the eagles have been injured and can't return to the wild. All taken with the 55-300 at ISO 800 hand held. This was our first visit and we hope to return soon. A really nice facility and great staff.

00bGqV-515493584.jpg.6a5f80d97928e8cf24869b08a03d54b3.jpg
