Lightroom with Windows 8?

Recommended Posts

I'm upgrading computers today. I've been working with a Toshiba Satellite laptop and I'm purchasing a Dell desktop. The Best Buy's in the area no longer sell desktops with anything but Windows 8 (Microsoft has pushed them to sell off anything older than Windows 8). I've considered buying a refurbished desktop from a smaller store but they don't carry a warranty, which is why I'm drawn to Best Buy.

I currently edit with Lightroom, version 3.6. My laptop has minimal capacity and is a 2gb ram, 500 gb hard drive, 32 bit system. It runs on Windows Vista.

If I upgrade to a desktop with Windows 8, 64 bit system, will I need to upgrade or even repurchase Lightroom so that it is compatible with my new system?

Carson, don't worry about Windows 8. Give yourself the chance to get used to it for a few days. Otherwise, you could use your downgrade rights. the link here gives you all information you might need: http://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/licensing/sblicensing/pages/downgrade_rights.aspx#fbid=atugvmVwl86
