dave_clark4
Hi, all. I am now the proud owner of a nex 6 camera, with a question about manual focus with a legacy lens. My kit lens in manual focus will enlarge the image for a short time. Is it possible to do this with my 40mm summi? Focus peaking works ok, but sometimes the enlarged image would be nice. Thanks for any help that you may offer.
Dave
ariel_s1
Yes, there is enlargement, but with your kit lens it communicates with the camera, so it knows when you're focusing. With a legacy lens, there is no such communication, so you have to manually engage it; your manual tells you how to do so.

bobschell
In the "setup" menu you can select 2 sec, 5 sec, or no limit for MF assist.
ant_nio_ferreira
I use all my Leica glass with the Nex 6. In the setup menu I chose "custom key settings" and the first line, "AEL key setting" I put "MF assist", thus making much easier to enlarge the focus area using the AEL button. It works beautifully, putting the peaking in red and "strong". My Summicron 90 is absolutely delicious to use this way, as is the Noctilux. Wide angles, due to the larger DOF, are trickier to use. I hope this helps.
