a_s5
It seems as though Canon likes to replace/introduce new bodies every five years or so, so that may mean that the EOS3 will be due for a replacement soon...Anything coming out of the rumor mill? When do you think it would be a logical time for Canon to release their next SLR?
jordan_prussky
I would not be surprised if they did not release another film camera. With the amount of money they are spending on their DSLR's, it just does not make sense.
jordan_prussky
sorry, pro-slr, is what I meant
will_perlis
That could carry over to the digitals too. Otherwise, why bother?
carl smith
I think Canon will continue to make film SLRs as long as there's a need for them. Consumer buyers will crap out first I suspect but their pro cameras may continue on for a while. Most likely though, we won't see any major changes to what's out there. Or maybe they'll only make a top end film SLR down the road. Who knows?
howie_wu
Is the EOS 3 that much behind current technology in film SLR? No. In fact, it is still too much.
howie_wu
Of course, I meant to say: it is still too *advanced* (in technology).
isaac sibson
The EOS 5 (the EOS 3's predecessor) remained in production for 9 years. The EOS 3 is still the best camera in its class. The next one is likely to be an EOS 30 replacement, but that's probably some way off still... Digital is where it's all happening at the moment.
