Hi,
thanks for kicking us off Shun. My contribution is from a brief few seconds of the peleton from day 2 of the Tour of Britain passing by out in the nearby Derbyshire countryside. Pictured is Bradley Wiggins, first British winner of the Tour de France in an awfully long time....Nikon D700, 70-200 VRII
Have a great Wednesday

I suspect there's a typo in the title of this thread or I missed the memo about Nikon changing it's name to Nion. ;-) I love your series of shots Shun...especially the first one! Mine is one of the many dragonflies flitting about. There were literally 100's flying around this morning. (D7000/Sigma 150 macro @ 1/250, f/10, ISO 200)

Thanks again to those who have commented on my fireworks photos this summer. As I mentioned last week, I've been working on fireworks photos this summer, with much of August spent on abstracts.

For this set I switched from the 180/2.8D to the 105/2.8 AF-S Micro, still shooting from the same location. I wanted to go wider to get some more other-worldly results like the first one below, but it turns out this lens makes it tougher -- the AF-S mechanism means you can't as easily feel the ends of the focus travel, and the focus travel is simply longer on macro lenses.

Click on them to see them bigger on Flickr, and to see the rest of the set. As before, these are all single frames shot on a D700 with minimal, straightforward, global processing in LR4.

My success rate was lower (only 8 keepers in 10 minutes, compared with 27 and 32 in the first two attempts), but the results were quite different. While I think I'm done with these for the near future, if I ever do try again I might give the 85/1.8D a try.

Wonderful shots ! Shun love your series. Mark, your fireworks series has been amazing and these latest are so creative! Very well done.
Was trying to shoot this young male hummingbird when we both got a surprise. He got the cigar plant blossom stuck on his bill. Not sure which one of us it surprised the most.
He shook it off in a matter of seconds and continued on to feed and then to guard the plant.

All taken with the D7000 and 500mm f/4.
Hope you enjoy.
