joe_cormier
Is the default color space of Lightroom 4 Prophoto RGB? In your opinions, what is the best color space to use in Lightroom and
also should I carry that color space through to Photoshop CS-5 if I wish to modify and print the image. Thanks In Advance. scott_ferris
Not exactly, but close enough, the color values are ProPhoto the tonal response curve is a tweaked version from Adobe sRGB.
There are no color options for Lightroom, just calibrate your monitor open it and work. The file export dialogue is important and these settings should match the settings in your external editing program. I export as 16 bit TIFF with ProPhoto colour space and have PS set up as ProPhoto being the working space. After doing all edits I change the image colour profiles to whatever is appropriate. But that is for a RAW workflow, where speed and space is not paramount. There is very good reason to work in other spaces in PS f the predominant output is smaller.

jeff_schewe
Actually, the internal processing pipeline uses ProPhoto RGB color but a linear gamma. The only place where the color space is using a tweaked sRGB gamma is in the Develop Histogram and the color sampler.
