katie_clarke1
Hi,

I am trying to add blood as an element for one of my photographs without actually using real blood. Can anyone help me to figure out how to create blood with dripping patterns.

Thanks----K.C.
Hector Javkin
Look up theatrical blood or stage blood. It's not real. You can even find "stage blood" on Amazon.
djolk
Its possible to purchase fake blood. As for realistic dripping patterns you could probably just experiment until you found something that looked right. Perhaps look at film or theatre makeup resources. I bet there are some online, with decent instructions.
katie_clarke1
Sorry, maybe my question wasn't clear enough. I want to digitally add blood to the photo. I tried painting it in but it looked sloppy.

Thanks!

K.C.
ann_overland
Hi Katie, you could look for brushes that will give you that effect, for example on Deviantart. There are many to choose from: Link
katie_clarke1
Thanks Ann. I tried to download the files but they would not open. I wonder if this zip files are for a pc instead of a mac.
ann_overland
I don't have a mac, so I know nothing about how it works. But from what I just read, I think it should open in mac too? Here is a discussion about that: link

Some of the brushes come in .rar files. I had to download a new program to open them i Win7. I downloaded WinRAR from cnet downloads to do this.
