Wedding Photo of the Week--After the Ceremony--3/5/12

<p>I am continuing the theme assignment in this week's POW. I may even change the title, but not right away. This week's theme is After the Ceremony--namely, those moments immediately after the recessional that include joy, shock, relief, you name it. Make sure it is 700 pixels or less in width and/or length - AND - make sure to enter a caption in the caption box on that page where you've uploaded. Some technical details about the shot would be helpful.<br /><br />This is not a contest - but simply a discussion of art and technique, with illustrations. Positive as well as constructive suggestions are what will occur. HOWEVER - IF you wish to post your image but DO NOT WANT to be considered for critique - please say so in your caption. The thing about bagpipers is that they're hard to ignore, but an easy cliche. Getting ready for the exit, I was watching an aunt goof around with a good looking piper.<div></div>

<p>Hi...first time posting on forum so hope it works. Here are some Croatian customs on the weddings. Like on Karl photo with bagpiper mine shows some gipsy trumpeter (hope this is the right word) and a bestman putting some money on his trumpet,just to order a new song and celebrate the wedding.<br>

<p>The bride also teaches girls gymnastics.....and her team showed up at the church....how cool was that. All of them were just beaming to be photographed with the bride.</p><div></div>

<p>Boy i really love the expressions on Karl's and Kornelio's photos. The expressions complete the image....and the B&W adds so much more.</p>

@dave-- thanks! I like the drama in your shots,and the timing is very good. Looking at the numbers you're running I'm wondering if some fill - maybe minus 1 2/3 or so would give you some breathing room in the shadows?

<p>Karl....I did brighten the second shot in the post process for the finished image. The shot i posted was taken from the original without processing. I don't like to use flash...i like to capture what the eye sees. However, sometimes i have used it in very rare occasions.</p><div></div>
