steve_hotchkiss
Is there such a lens as Leica black Elmarit M35 F2.8 lens?
andrew_hall1
Yes, only if the "M" is a typo for "R." The real M lens would be the Summaron and made in chrome only, AFAIK.
norman_mayersohn
Taking a wild guess as to the inspiration fo your question, I suggest you look at "completed item" #802142100. Same seller, just as nonspecific a description. Don't know what to make of it.
eliot
The 35/2.8 lens in M bayonet mount (or Leica SM for that matter) would be called a Summaron, not an Elmarit. The 35/2.8 Summarons were made in chrome (on brass) finish, not black. However, there may have been a few such M lenses in a black paint finish, made to special order. One such lens is pictured in Lager Vol II. But since Leica never catalogued black finish 35/2.8 Summarons, the origin of these lenses is uncertain. A 35/2.8 Elmarit black is likely to represent a Leica R lens, not an M lens. The 35/2.8 for R was called an Elmarit (not a Summaron) and was made in a black finish. This is not a rare lens.
