shawn_rahman
Greetings everyone. I am currently using an M7 (.72) with only a 50mm Summicron. My problem is my right eye is getting progressively worse, and while I have a diopter that matches my prescription, I am wondering if the 1.25x magnifier will assist me in focusing and composition better than the diopter? Does anyone regularly use the magnifier with the 50? I would love to hear your experience with it. Thanks!
jim_bielecki1
I have an MP and regularly use the 1.25X magnifier with my 50 and 75mm lenses. For me, it does make focusing more precise, especially when I shoot wide-open. I doubt if the magnifier will be any help with composition, that comes from inside your head.
michael_a._shapiro
You can use both at the same time.
mukul_dube
It will help in focussing: and it will help indirectly with composition because you will see things more clearly.
kens
I had a similar problem. The magnifier worked better than the diopter for me, but the magnifier is a bit fiddly. The best solution for me was to update my prescription.
Alex_Es
As Michael said you can can use both a diopter and the magnifier. I use both on my M8 when using my Nokton 50/1.1 and other fast lenses.
shawn_rahman
Thank you, gents. Your advice is greatly appreciated. I will look into purchasing the magnifier and try it with the diopter. Best regards!
mukul_dube
There may be an aesthetic problem: the whole thing will look like a large wart.
