michelle_munksgard
So I purchased a bundle that included a manual camera and a bunch of lenses. One of the lenses I have not been able to find too much information on and am looking to see what it is worth.
The lens reads:

A. Schacht Munchen - Travenar 1:2,8/85

Any thoughts of where I can find more information or anyone that knows more about these??

Thanks!
craigd
A. Schacht was an independent lens maker that operated in Munich (München) in the 1950s and '60s. If you search photo.net for "schacht" you should find some posts about them.
waldemar_schmid
Sounds dubious to me. The old Schacht M42 lenses i have are marked A.Schacht Ulm, not München. In München was Steinheil, another lens maker for M42, Exacta and LTM. And Enna, who made low budget lenses. All these companies are long gone.
Greetings Waldemar Schmid
mukul_dube
Lens maker, whether Munich or elsewhere. In the Leica world their lenses, like Steinheil's, were affordable alternatives to the Leitz products but were not considered equally good. This Travenar 85/2.8 will perhaps fetch as much as the Culminar.
