In the office, we celebrated Oktoberfest last week, and some of the snacks looked very appealing.

I know food photography is not easy. I had no studio setting. This is from a D700 with the 60mm/f2.8 AF-S Micro on and bouncing an SB-900 off a white ceiling. I stopped the lens down to f11 for depth of field @ 1/125 sec and ISO 200.

00ZQXI-404267584.jpg.98eb65620d99c6b7aff86f7e55ebdab0.jpg

In the last few weeks, I've spent hours sorting through and editing gymnastics pictures for my son's team's website. Yesterday, I needed a break, so I grabbed my camera as I left to do errands. I spotted these morning glories growing along a fence surrounding a deserted building.

Simon Jenkins: I love the processing on your sailboat photograph. It feels very peaceful.

00ZQZ2-404289584.jpg.7ff6b88c017c6dc3e3c0b2edd2bda1db.jpg

Hi Everyone,
Interesting and beautiful shots as always. Here's a butterfly I chased all over the garden a few days ago; hat's off to all the great macro shooters--it's more difficult than I had imagined, but lotsa fun.
Jim

00ZQZi-404301584.jpg.edd037156d5190bf6e88117eebf4cb13.jpg

Hi all! Excellent shots, as always, from everyone!

I decided to post another slightly experimental shot (or rather edit) from my sister's wedding. I normally don't do this extreme edits, but for this shot I made an exception - and found myself liking it quite a lot. Oh, and thanks to John DiLeo for your kind words on last week's thread!

Last Butterfly of Summer

The sun was finally shinning, so I went out to the garden to see if there was anything left of summer to photograph. I came across this monarch on the last flower that was left on my butterfly bush. I felt that it is the last butterfly I'll see until next summer.
