Some exciting stuff so far.
I found a dead pigeon on my lawn this morning; the victim of some nocturnal conflict with a cat or fox doubtless. I thought it was quite beautiful in a macabre way. It's not often you get to see the irridescent feathers and brightly coloured beak close up, so here it is in all its grisly glory.

Looks like Nikon Wednesday #31, 2011 is a great start today. I have missed a couple of weeks being on vacation in Philadelphia area.
I shot this Sunrise on the banks of the Delaware River in Bristol, PA. It is actually my 1st real attempt at doing one. I haven't tried a Sunset yet but I am sure that I will as I am hooked after taking this one. Of course I have seen sunrises but never looked at the beauty through a view finder and tried to capture one. The colors this morning were just stunning as so vivid.
I used my Nikon D90, Sigma 30mm @ f10(AP), 1/13s, iso 200 - on Tripod
Light editing using ACDSee Pro 4. I hope that you enjoy this as much as I.

Hello fellow Nikonians. August is here and vacation time for some of us has just begun! Greece is most beautiful, sunny and colorful at the beaches this time of the year and I can't wait. Went for a swim and had the chance to shot a few shots. Nothing special, just people enjoying and relaxing by the sea. Take care!

00Z8Ly-385873584.jpg.fda17096f4a6aa75b10c6a821a7667c4.jpg

Good Morning Wednesday :)

Thanks Larry G and Panayotis for liking and commenting on my last week's submission.

This week's image taken at South Boston Castle Island from last Thursday when went out with few friends. Taken in single RAW and converted into HDR (-2, 0, +2) to get the effect in orange clouds.

Wonderful contributions today !! Thank you for commenting on my shot last week.
I had the opportunity to photograph the dogs in training again. It is amazing to watch the dogs , but it is also something to see the handler and dog work as team.

I like the shot with the handler and his dog, Roberta. I knew you wouldn't be able to stop with just one (liked the retriever in the water, too). It's great subject matter - trust me that you can spend years exploring it, visually. Next thing you know, you'll be buying a blaze orange hat and vest.

Eastern Kingbird mobbing Osprey
This was a very interesting behaviour as there were three Kingbirds dive-bombing the Osprey at its nest. Until the Osprey got fed up and flew around trying to loose them, however, one was persistent and kept up the attack in mid-air. Aggressive little guys during mating season!

00Z8Mj-385887784.jpg.e787e8f24000fc314db68f7bd7373b65.jpg
