ko_seung_yeon
I have EOS3 & Speedlite 420ex and bought an used MR-14ex flash yesterday. I have plan to use MR-14ex as master and use 420ex as slave for macro photo. But when testing this unit, 420ex did not fired and only AF-assist beam emitter blinked continuously. Which setting is right for the 420ex's channel/group and the MR- 14ex's unknown buttons?
yakim_peled1
While I don't know the answer, I am positive it is in http://photonotes.org/articles/eos-flash.
nelson cotrim
Master-capable flash units: The Speedlite 550EX and the ST-E2 transmitter both have the ability to act as a master (control) unit. The MR-14EX and MT-24EX macro flashes can also serve as masters, but only with slave units in group C or with slave groups A and B linked to the internal tubes and other slave units in group C (see above).
From the photnotes page. Maybe that will solve your problem.
pixseal
Which setting is right for the 420ex's channel/group and the MR- 14ex's unknown buttons?
The correct channel setting is any one that's the same on both units.
