A good Wednesday to you, Nikonistas. My wife and I had a breakfast date in Annapolis the other morning, and decided to be in the area before sun-up to scout a bit of Chesapeake shoreline. With the sun coming up over the water, we were greeted by dozens of pairs of mating horsehoe crabs. These are some of the most pre-historic, alien critters you'll ever have the chance to almost step on. But it's hard to hold it against them when they're in love. They, too, had a breakfast date, it seems. Had your Nikon gear at hand for some time-traveling visitors from the deep? Share a photo!

00YxmO-374131584.jpg.bb00fbc92ae79ed6a0eaa912515b8e34.jpg

My photo this week is of my dad who celebrated his 98th birthday last week with a gathering at a lake cabin that has been in the family since 1931. Notice the Westinghouse refrigerator in the background that still runs great after about 60 years.

00YxmR-374135584.jpg.819153b67ad657e1ba1369071181168c.jpg

Hello Everybody,
thank you very much for all the kind comments on my photo last week, I very much appreciate it.
My photo this week has been especially created for Communication theme my photography group had for this week. I've decided to create a pin up style photo of a girl in a bath and insert a symbol to portray the conversation she is having on a phone.
Nikon D700, 24-70mm f/2.8@IS) 1100, f/2.8, 1/100
Have a nice week and I look forward to your photos.

Matt those Horseshoe crabs are fascinating, I saw a dead one a while back on Hiltonhead in Georgia.

Hello everyone, I took this on Friday in New Bern N.C, it was seriously hot and humid, i had just missed the shot of the train going over the causeway and had almost given up. i sat back under the shade of a tree when suddenly I saw a man on a bicycle, hope he had a train time table in his pocket.

00YxmW-374137684.jpg.293bdfc0581ad0ff9911e2f6594dfbf1.jpg

Hello to everyone. My shot was taken this past Sunday. The couple on the left were having their baby girl being baptized. At St.Georges Anglican Church - Place du Canada (Montreal) photos during the baptism are not permitted but the priest repeats the process and you can have your fill of photos. I decided to sneak a shot from the back of the church of the real baptism. I pumped my ISO to 2500 and grabbed this image at 1/15 sec shutter speed.

00Yxml-374147584.jpg.866416de2b72b1df50540ab226411f6a.jpg

snapped this one on my way back from a show...it's a mural of Oscar Grant, patron saint of police accountability and cell phone justice. the plywood is there to cover expensive plate glass windows in the case of an expected riot (which never materialized).

shot with a D3s, sigma 15mm fisheye.

00Yxmr-374159584.jpg.3d64c9d87fe3388f1fe709c7c3fd5e19.jpg

No critters from the deep, but the much needed rain last week brought out a lot of critters who were glad to see water. This anole was one. Thanks to those who commented on my photo last week. Looking forward to see more lovely photos like the ones already submitted. Martin...too funny! :) (D90/Sigma 150mm macro@1/350, f/5.6, ISO 400)

Greeting, everybody!
I was in Eastern Sierra last week, and spent a whole day in Lundy Canyon; beavers turned that place into a series of lakes. A lovely, peaceful place -- and a one-lane dirt road helps keep it that way.

00YxnZ-374175584.jpg.6fa4966cd70974aee44fbccb5c9870b3.jpg
